Rescue and Transport

An Unexpected Rescue

An Owl Rescue

The Rescue and Transport team is one of the linchpins of Liberty Wildlife. Our group is on the front line as we go out into the field and bring in the animals that the Medical Services, Daily Care, and other groups at the facility provide for on a day-to-day basis. A large part of our function is providing transport for animals already contained by the public. Other times, we have to capture the creature before we can bring it in. Both functions are indispensable to Liberty Wildlife.

The ability to perform as a Rescue/transport volunteer is almost unique at Liberty, as it is not dependent upon a regular schedule. You will be called as needed and if you are unable to go, you simply tell the phone volunteer and they will move on down the list. This gives people who have changing shifts or strange hours a chance to volunteer and to be an integral part of Liberty Wildlife.
