Medical Services
Medical service volunteers are required to have previous hands-on experience with wildlife before being accepted into the medical training program. Formal training and subsequent support through on-job mentoring ensures the volunteer is able to assess all incoming animals and provide excellent care as prescribed by established protocol. This opportunity is only available to volunteers who have been at Liberty Wildlife for a minimum of 6 months and are in good standing.
Job Responsibilities:
– Stabilize incoming wildlife
– Complete assigned medical procedures (i.e., complete dispensing medications,
assessments, wound management, proper wraps, etc.)
– Complete associated paperwork such as medical and food charts
– Update treatment and care notes
– Maintain a clean work area
– Dispose of syringes and needles properly
– Maintain care of oral syringes
– Change out sterilization solution for the cold sterile instruments
– Assist with other tasks as necessary
– Re-stock supplies and medical caddy when needed
Essential Functions:

– Communication with co-workers, supervisor, and all other volunteers

– Dependability
– Completion of all necessary training required by Liberty Wildlife

– Need to know how to read, write and do basic math
