Birdie Fore Birds Golf Tournament

With 108 golfers participating, all of the sponsorships taken, and some nice cool weather, the event was off to a smashing start. The shiny 2008 Jeep Liberty donated by Performance Chrysler Jeep Dodge as a hole-in-one prize adorned the entrance to the course. Golf shirts, balls and towels donated by SRP awaited registering golfers, along with coffee and beautiful fruit arrangements by Edible Arrangements. Spike, the Super Bowl mascot, bounced around greeting golfers who were admiring the Liberty Wildlife education birds. Mariana Rogers from 101 North Magazine was on hand to record the event for inclusion in an upcoming issue. The Four Beaks team was in full bird beak costume - sporting hats with, yes, beaks. Lovely idea to Sally Seamen, Connie Dolan, Kimberly Kim and Sharron Johnson.

No one made a hole-in-one, or an eagle or a birdie, but there was some good golfing going on. Lots of players beat the pro, and lots of raffle prizes were awarded. So, a smooth start to a grand tradition. Thank you to everyone who participated, golfers and volunteers alike.

Thanks, Missy, for all the hard work you put into this event! You did an amazing job! My family and I can't wait till next year – sign us up Team Hendricks.

We second that motion, Melissa. I was especially impressed at the turnout and the smoothness of the event. What a great job for a first-year event. I can hardly wait for the next one and we will be signing up ASAP. Truly an amazing job!
