Wishes for Wildlife ~ Saturday, April 17, 2010
Liberty Wildlife's main fund raiser, Wishes for Wildlife, is held every spring under the stars, weather permitting. Our educational ambassadors greet guests as they arrive, allowing everyone to have a personal experience with native wildlife. The event begins with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a first-class silent auction. The evening continues with an exquisite dinner, a not-to-be-missed live auction, the moonlit flight of a bird of prey, and a spectacular surprise finale. Raffles are aplenty….it just takes one ticket to win a room full of items. This is a must-attend benefit that you will never forget. For more information on this year's event, please go to www.wishesforwildlife.org.

Born to Be Wild
This is an event featuring motorcycles and a very fun ride. Starting at a different location every year and following a different scenic path, riders are encouraged to make stops along the way for various prizes, information or puzzle pieces depending on the "purported purpose of the ride." Awards are distributed for winners of a number of challenges, and a lively auction features many appropriate and fun related items for a "road warrior." Many of the stops feature bird of prey displays as well as a display and release at the luncheon site at the end of the race. Birdies Fore Birds
Our annual golf tournament is held in some of the Valley's loveliest golf courses. Each year Birdie Fore Birds is themed differently and designed for fun. Eighteen holes are sprinkled with free energy drinks, bird of prey displays, hole-in-one competitions, and beat the pro possibilities. A live bird of prey display, a continental breakfast, a silent auction, and dispersal of "goodie bags" greet guests at registration. At the conclusion of play, guests will be treated to a delicious luncheon, the awarding of prizes and the release of a rehabilitated bird of prey. Releases
One of the most special events that occur at Liberty Wildlife is the release of a rehabilitated animal. For those of us who are directly involved, it is particularly special to be a part of the process from beginning to end. It is our protocol to release the animal in the area that it came from if that information is available and if it is appropriate. That is often not the case, and suitable release sites are found that will support the animal as it re-enters the wild. As a result, some of these releases may take place in urban areas and some are destined for more rural areas. On occasion the public is able to take part in one of these uplifting success stories.

Orientations and Trainings
New Volunteer Orientations for people wanting to learn more about volunteering are held the second Saturday of every month. Contact our hotline for more information at 480-998-5550.

Liberty Wildlife Hope Tours
Liberty Wildlife’s Volunteers and Wildlife Ambassadors cordially invite you to tour their "home away from home." Because Liberty’s facilities are not normally open to the public, we have introduced Hope Tours to give a few lucky people the opportunity to see how we fulfill our mission to "nurture the nature of Arizona."

During the tour, you will experience firsthand what most people might only watch on the Discovery Channel. You will observe our staff and volunteers provide care for the current patients and inhabitants at our facility.

Hope Tours are conducted several times a month. The number of participants in each tour is limited to ensure a personal and meaningful experience. Therefore, we ask that you make an advance reservation.

To reserve your space or obtain additional information about the tours, please call our Liberty Wildlife Hotline at 480-998-5550.
