Wishes for Wildlife Event

As guests entered the event, it was plainly obvious that it would be a beautiful evening filled with ambience, bidding wars, exciting drawings for wonderful raffle items, and a spirited live auction.

The guests were treated to hors d’oeuvres as they mingled and vied for auction items. A delectable meal pleased the palate, and dessert was indeed memorable. The live auction included a grand houseboat vacation, trips to the wine country, a deluxe dining out package, a Hawaii vacation, and an adrenaline rush package including a flight in a fighter combat airplane. The Corporate Chairman for the evening, Chip Weil, released a rehabilitated great horned owl, who flew across the audience into the dark of the desert and never looked back....a great success.

One of the true highlights of the evening was the flight of Zeus, a Eurasian eagle owl. With his handlers, Robbie and Shannon Sinkler of Wild Sky Productions, Zeus flew across the auction and pool area, leading the way to dinner, where he posed for photographs and proudly showed off his beauty to fascinated guests. At the end of the evening, Daryl Weil launched him from her gloved hand, ending his performance for the evening and sending him back across the pool.

We want to thank everyone involved in making this yet another successful Wishes for Wildlife. Stay tuned for information about next year’s event.
