The past year we assisted 3,709 native animals and between 450-500 non-natives who were cared for until they could be transferred out. Add to these numbers the care of the 57 educational ambassadors dining annually on fish, poultry and rodents.

The cash register tab for these items was $78,398, which was 18.75% of our annual budget.
Like everyone else, we are tightening our belts. We have explored locally and found outstanding food bargains…some for free (the best!), and others at great reductions. In addition to these savings, we have greatly reduced transportation costs, making us more "green" than before. We are using fewer resources in the form of dollars and fuel, lessening our carbon footprint and our budget needs wherever possible.
But there will always be some things to purchase at the regular price and from out of town.
So if you would like to go shopping with us and chip in on the tab, go to our virtual store at www.libertywildlife.net and purchase food from our shopping list. Liberty, the bald eagle, likes lots of fish; Apache and Phoenix, both golden eagles, like larger rodents. The gopher snakes love mice, as do most of the owls and hawks. The falcons go for feathery things. And for certain, the songbirds sing for their seeds and worms.
See you at the store!
