Another Year Ends—2006

In 2006, we:

  • celebrated our 25th Anniversary of providing rehabilitation, education and conservation services in Arizona.
  • assisted nearly 3000 animals.
  • provided 420 educational programs to the public across the state.
  • initiated a free-flight program using some of our non-releasable educational ambassadors.
  • held our groundbreaking ceremony for our new facility in Papago Park.
  • have received over $7 million in grants, pledges, and donations toward our
    $10 million Capital Campaign drive.
  • initiated an Advisory Council to assist the direction of the organization.
  • participated in the second year of collaboration with the Citizen Stewardship group.
  • completed our third year of our online newsletter, NatureNews.
  • introduced a new communication effort through our online This Week at Liberty.
  • published our first all-color newsletter, WingBeats.
  • added participation in three new fund-raising efforts – the Tour de Scottsdale, the Fountain Mountain Triathlon, and the sale of our Charity Charm.
  • completed another year in active support of the Environmental Fund of Arizona.
  • initiated the remake of our new and improved Web page to be introduced after the beginning of the year.
  • restructured our Research and Conservation arm for better service to our clients.
  • completed new Medical Services training class and Education training class.
  • added an improved volunteer oversight process.
  • held a well-attended volunteer event to recognize the value of the volunteers in fulfilling our mission.

In addition, representatives of all of these species were treated at Liberty Wildlife this year.
