Nature News - A monthly e-publication from Liberty Wildlife

The word balance covers a lot of ground: balance of power, balance of trade, balancing act. But one concept that seems to elude a lot of people is the relationship between predator and prey. These are, in reality, two sides of the same coin. The balance between the population of predators and the size of the prey base is fairly delicate and has been honed by nature for generations. And it usually works very well, all things being equal. Of course, things are not always equal.

Day in and day out, hundreds of volunteers and a handful of staff toil and sweat at Liberty Wildlife to save, raise and release native wildlife. Since we’re in the midst of the hectic summer season, let’s take a moment to see what it is that we are actually accomplishing.

In the past, Liberty Wildlife has focused our fund-raising opportunities on one main (and wonderful) event, Wishes for Wildlife. However, as we attempt to get construction underway for our new facility at Papago Park, fund-raising is more important than ever. The new facility will help us take care of more animals, and provide many more educational events for the public. We hope you will support us by taking part in some new fund-raising events that will give you more opportunities to support our mission.

Liberty Wildlife Volunteer Phenoms

We would like to recognize the following volunteers who are all pretty new to the organization, but who have quickly stepped up and become very important to us – Charles Staples, Deborah Staples and Barbie Baugh.
